I went to a class at a local crafts studio recently. I didn’t know what to expect, as the title of the class had something to do with paper-making. Turned out we were being taught how to make decorative origami gift boxes. What was most satisfying about the experience - beyond having something to show for my efforts which was surprisingly gratifying since the work I do often has very little in the way of tangible results - was the two hours of playing with paper; like being back in grade school art class, as Clara said, where one’s hands are occupied and one’s mind is free. I left feeling as if I’d meditated for two hours. And I had a box to show for it!
